Open Position: Physics Laboratory Technician

Nova Photonics is looking for a qualified candidate with experience/education in vacuum systems, general mechanical/laboratory skills and CAD design. Knowledge of RF and high voltage systems also desirable. No travel is required for this position. We seek a candidate who is

• organized and detail-oriented
• able to work independently and in a team setting
• competent with vacuum hardware including turbo pumps, RGA, and leak detectors.
• experienced with 3D CAD design (Solidworks)
• knowledgeable/experienced with rf power, magnetic fields and high voltage systems (desirable)
• familiar with basic machining and electronics (desirable)
• capable of lifting up to 50 lbs

The successful candidateʼs responsibilities will include

• maintenance and reconfiguration of vacuum systems, including leak checking
• 3D CAD mechanical design of custom experimental hardware
• maintenance and operation of magnetized rf plasma systems
• maintenance and operation of high voltage acceleration systems
• organization and maintenance of laboratory
• on-site collaboration at Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory
• support of multiple projects
